Highlights

The capital and most populous city of the Netherlands and informally known as the “Venice of the North”.  Amsterdam is known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled frontages.  As the second most bike-friendly city in the world, tour the city on two wheels to see its breathtaking beauty. Amsterdam is simply one of my favorite destinations!

Famous for its canals, Amsterdam has more canals than Venice. Treat yourself to a private dinner cruise to view the city’s beauty from the water.  It will surely be a memorable experience.

Amsterdam is a perfect destination for art lovers and is filled with an abundance of museums.  Most notably, the Rijksmuseum is one of the world’s most renowned art museums and is dedicated to Dutch history and fine arts.

With close proximity to the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum is dedicated to the works of Vincent van Gogh. There is also the Stedelijk Museum for modern and contemporary art and design and the Concertgebouw is one of the most famous concert halls in the world – it should not be missed!

Other museums include the Hermitage Amsterdam, a branch of the Hermitage Museum of Saint Petersburg in Russia.  Visit the Anne Frank House where she and her family lived and hid during the World War II.  Lastly, the National Maritime Museum is one of the most visited museums in the Netherlands.

The Royal Palace Amsterdam is one of the three palaces in the Netherlands. It is situated opposite to the War Memorial and next to the Nieuwe Kerk.

The Hortus Botanicus is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world and is one of Amsterdam’s major tourist attractions.

Take the Heineken Experience tour and visit the former brewery of this beer giant. Make sure to end your tour in the tasting room for a perfect finale.

Amsterdam is also known for its nightlife and festivals. If your schedule permits and timing is right, attend the Amsterdam Dance Event with the world’s best DJs and electronic music.

Don’t miss the Sunday Markets! With lots of food and drink options, they are also the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind souvenirs to bring home.  You should also stroll through the Albert Cuyp Market which has 260 stands that run six days a week!
