Highlights

Howdy from The Better Journey, bringing you a special feature on Chiang Mai of Thailand. Thailand, originally named Siam until June 1939, is part of my very own family heritage. My great grandmother was the princess of Siam (like the movie “King and I”) and because of my own personal connection, I’ve always held a special interest and love for exploring this country’s true beauty!

Visit the highest point at Doi Inthanon or the Doi Suthep-Pui National Parks, where you can find true tranquility in the waterfalls and explore the Sobhad Village.

How about exploring the caves of Chiang Dao and venture to see the limestone caverns beneath?

A visit to the White Temple, Golden Triangle and Blue Temple is a must as they are spectacular masterpieces. Also, take a boat ride on the Mekong River and enjoy lunch for a memorable experience to check off your bucket list.

The sacred temple of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and Hmong Hill Tribe Village are incredible and should not be missed. Want to make it even more special? Visit these temples during sunset for an incredible sight!

If you have time, go to the biggest inflatable water park which includes canoeing, kayaking, zip lining and wakeboarding.

Try your hand at a cooking class to make some traditional Thai dishes and to learn authentic Thai cooking techniques!

Before heading home, attend the Siam Dragon Cabaret Show. It is simply outstanding!

If time allows, you may want to extend your trip to Bangkok. It would be incredible to take a long-tail boat ride to visit even more beautiful temples!
