Highlights

Since India is the largest country in the South Asia Region and seventh largest in the world by area, you’ll want a trip specifically designed for you and your interests. For one of my favorite ways to explore India, I suggest landing in Delhi, seeing the rapidly modernizing capital, then connecting to Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur.

India is one of the most spiritual places I’ve traveled to. There are a lot of spectacular temples to visit, particularly the Akshardham and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi. While in Jaipur, I highly recommend visiting the Abhaneri and the Birla Temple. Also, be sure to stop by Nagaur in Jodhpur – the architecture and splendid mirror work of the Charbhuja in Udaipur is mind-blowing.

Learn about Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and his mass-civil disobedience techniques and be sure to visit The Land of Gandhi.

The in-depth history and culture of India captivates all those who visit. Each time I have traveled to India, I have continued to be fascinated with its unique heritage. Visiting some of the most historical sites would certainly enrich your travel experience.

From Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, to the India Gate which reminds me so much of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, to the Bahai Lotus Temple, a definite highlight of Dehli and the Old Fort (Purana Quila) is not to be missed. Enter a time machine and visit Neemrana, full of majestic forts, temples, lakes, springs and museums.

The City Palace in Jaipur is also astonishing. Here you can find various palaces, a museum filled with beautiful paintings, a collection of royal costumes and an interesting display of well-preserved Rajput weaponry. If time allows, make your way to the most recognizable monument of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal, which translates to the Palace of Winds.

Travel further to Pali in Rajasthan where you’ll find rich heritage and culture. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort with the Maharaja’s palace as well as the stunning temples, beautiful gardens, six different galleries and the Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park. Last but not least, be sure to add a visit to the City Palace in Udaipur.

Besides the beautiful beaches along the extensive coastline, the nature of India is breathtaking. Particularly, the Ranthambore National Park in Jaipur, the Dhawa Doli Wildlife Sanctuary in Jodhpur and the Udaipur Biological Park in Udaipur.

There are quite a number of fairs held annually in India. The most popular ones are held in Jodhpur including the Bhadrajun and Ramdevra Fair. These fairs attract large numbers of devotees at the Ramdevra Temple where they sing devotional songs throughout the night – a beautiful scene that you can enjoy or even participate in. It’s an experience you will never forget!

If you are into “Mind and Wellness”, you must take a trip to the All India Institute of Ayurveda, a medicine & research institution that brings the synergy between traditional wisdom of Ayurveda and modern tools and technology. Also located in Delhi is the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, a center of excellence in Yoga. You can also add in a visit to the Preksha International, Jain Vishwa Bharati in Jaipur.

To sum up, the list of possibilities and exploration goes on and on. India is truly a dream and an exciting destination for all!
